Introductory Classes

If this is your first time looking to try your hand at pottery, you probably have some questions.
What can you expect? Over the past thirty-seven years, our pottery studio
has instructed thousands of people like you in the ceramic arts.

For our introduction classes, we offer two choices:
Hand Building or Wheel Throwing.
First, however, answer this question.
Are you more inclined to enjoy creative activities that include design and form,
or are you more likely to enjoy physical exercise and focused concentration?

Hand Building
In hand building, potters design and create with pliable clay. It is how people first began making ceramics and it is an easy and satisfying way to make plates, bowls, trays, sculpture and much more.

Typical results by first-timers are pictured here.
